Multiplication!!
Aug 31, 2009
One of the very first times that we went down to LA to do Bag of Hope, we were blessed with a great deal of pastries to pass out along with our lunches. We went throughout the day, passing out lunches and pastries, offering multiple pastries to people because we had so many. When we went through the crates that we had, we went back to get the rest from the cars. We gave out everything that we had and went back to the cars, only to find two more crates full of pastries! We knew that we needed to pray and ask God where he wanted us to take the food that he had multiplied. We prayed about it and felt that God wanted us to take it to a local church…well, we weren’t very familiar with the area, so we asked around for local churches. When we found one, we headed in the direction that we were given. We couldn’t find the church that WE were looking for, but found a church, which we later realized, was the church that God was sending us to. We couldn’t find an open door, so we split up, to try to find someone who could help us. One group walked in on a prayer meeting that was taking place. The people in the meeting were praying about where they were going to get food from to feed the people. They open up their doors to anyone in the neighborhood everyday and feed them, but this week they didn’t have any food. Can you believe that? Go God! The Bag of Hope group said that they had some food from God and went to the car to grab it. When they returned, they began pouring the two small crates out onto the large table. As they began pouring, the food began to multiply before their eyes. The people of the church were shocked and began praising God, saying that the food was multiplying! The food multiplied so much that it began to fall off the table! The church group prayed for the Bag of Hope group and blessed them as they left. When they shared the about what had just happened to the rest of the Bag of Hope group, we were all amazed at God’s faithfulness and goodness! These people needed food to feed the people, and God sent us to play a part in a miracle! What an amazing privilege.
