Outreach & Sunday Testimonies

Mar 25, 2008

Saturday we had a church outreach and went to the Brea Mall to pray for people. We've been doing these types of outreaches for about a year now, and they never get old. Over and over again we see amazing healings and people's hearts being touched. And all it takes is simply stepping out, taking a chance, talking to people you would usually just pass by, and letting God's heart be your heart. We prayed before we went out together, got words and pictures, and went to see who it was those words belonged to. One of our people kept getting a picture of a cane, and really felt like he was supposed to be purposeful in looking for a person who had a cane. We split up into groups and prayed for lots of people! While there are usually "No's" its the "Yes'" that affect and change us as well as the people who say yes.

The group who had the picture of the cane, found a 92 year old man who was sitting on a bench with a family member, holding a cane. It was the last person they saw through the time of looking and praying for people! They went up to him and found that he only spoke spanish, and was also catholic. His family member translated for him, and he said he was fine with them praying for his leg. He showed them what leg it was that was in pain, and let them lay hands on it! As they were praying they could really feel the holy spirit, and the family member that was with him laid her hand on him as well and was praying with them. Then another one of his family members came up and was watching and listening to them pray. And again ANOTHER woman came up and laid hands on our guy who had the picture and began praying along with our group and for our group!! They finished praying, and were asking him how he was feeling, and he said he felt a little bit better. Then the family member who had walked up during the prayer time, started telling him in spanish to "Stand up! Walk!" and eventually was trying to get his cane away from him to see him walk without it. He carried on walking, perfectly fine, without his cane!! His family members just kept thanking our group and then left.  It was so funny to see his family member, who was catholic, have so much faith and push him to hand over his cane and walk. Our group didnt even have to say a word, she was on it!

They then talked to the woman who came up and prayed along with them, and she was from another church in this area, and she just told them what a great thing they were doing, and encouraging them to press on. Its so amazing, that just stepping out caused a huge current of prayer and faith to be spread, as well as healing! So great!

Also, on sunday we had Carly (a girl in our church) come up and share. She told us about getting in a dirt bike accident 6 years earlier, and being in pain for all of those 6 years. Because of her pain, she was taking enough prescription drugs to kill her, and became addicted to them. She shared with us this sunday, that she recognized her addiction, repented of it, and asked the Lord to change things. She has been freed from her addiction to prescriptions and is no longer having the same kind of pain!! Its so amazing to see how different she is in only a few weeks, and how on fire she is for what God is doing around her and in her.
