Testimonies from Inheritance Conference Outreach
Aug 02, 2011
A group from all over the US as well as New Zealand and Australia joined us as we headed Walmart for yet another outreach. We broke up into groups of 2-3 and walked down the various aisles of the store asking the Holy Spirit to lead us to the people He wanted us to talk with.
We prayed for one woman who has had brain cancer for 15 years. She has had 3 surgeries and had just had an MRI that very day. Her daughter was getting married in September and all she wanted was to be around long enough to see her walk down the aisle. We prayed for complete healing over her brain and for health and long life. We asked God to bring her peace and to fill her with joy as she helps her daughter prepare for her wedding day. The Holy Spirit was all over her when we were praying and she could hardly keep her eyes closed as her eyelids were fluttering so much. She was so overwhelmed with emotion as we all were starting to tear up at the goodness of the Lord. She thanked us and gave us a huge hug and left us so encouraged.
Another woman was walking down the aisle with her daughter asleep in her shopping cart and we asked if we could pray for her. She was so grateful for the offer and shared that she had been praying for God’s provision. Her husband is an electrician and was having a hard time finding work. They had been struggling financially and it was taking a toll on their family of eight. We chatted with her for quite some time and then prayed for her and her family. She then looked at one of our team members and noticed that she was around the same age as one of her daughters. She said that it was going to sound strange for what she was about to ask but she wanted to know if one of our girls on the team would be interested in meeting up with her daughter. Her daughter didn’t seem to have too many friends and was becoming very lonely. We took down her number and let her know that we would be happy to give her a call and meet up. She was so thankful and we pointed out that God was already providing for her and her family but it was just in a different way than she was expecting. She was overjoyed.
One woman was visiting from Florida to take care of her goddaughter who was 21 with severe autism. This woman had the joy of the Lord all over her and was beaming the whole time we were talking with her. We were able to pray for her and her goddaughters healing and blessing. She in return prayed for us and a blessing over us as we spread the word. It was such a beautiful time.
We prayed for a seventeen year old boy who was struggling to find his way in life. He was hanging around the wrong crowds and getting into trouble but he no longer wanted to live his life that way. One of the team members who was talking with him had a similar story and shared his testimony of being involved with gangs. They were able to pray for him and he seemed really blessed by the encounter.
A woman who had a few people pass away within the last couple of weeks received prayer and the team watched as the Holy Spirit covered her with a blanket of hope. They said that you could see the hope shining through her eyes when they left her.
There are so many more stories of how God moved that afternoon. It is amazing what happens when you stop for a few minutes and look around and see people trying to go about their day but with heavy hearts and a mind full of worry. If we didn’t open our eyes we would have never known the hurt that these few people were going through. God doesn’t seem to care where we are or what we’re doing just so long as we say yes to Him; He clears the way for us to share with people and pave the way for them to have an encounter with Him.
